Our current political education program involves meeting twice a month over Zoom to discuss pre-planned texts either theoretical (theory) or practical (praxis). It was created by a resolution passed at our December 2024 General Meeting

Whereas, BuxMont DSA is an ideologically socialist organization which seeks to educate and empower the working class with the knowledge and tools to fight capitalism;
Whereas, As socialists, we recognizes the importance of educating our members and the working class in the theory and history of socialism, as well as the history of human society in general, in order to prepare them to fight capitalism and build socialism;
Whereas, We consider it the responsibility of BuxMont DSA to provide its members and all interested members of the community with the means and space to learn and discuss elements of the socialist movement and the world-at-large;
Therefore, be it resolved, BuxMont DSA will create a Political Education Committee(Poli Ed) to promote political and theoretical development;
Be it resolved, The Political Education Committee will be chaired by a BuxMont DSA member in good standing, approved by a majority vote of the Steering Committee. The Political Education Committee can recruit further volunteers to assist the Poli Ed Chair;
Be it resolved, The Political Education Committee will commit to holding at least one meeting every month on a subject of its choosing;
Be it finally resolved, The Political Education Committee will save minutes and summarize their meetings to analyze the successes and failures, and also to provide the General Meetings with updates on the progress of the Poli Ed’s work.
