2025-7-22 Political Education Praxis Session #7: The US Immigration System
This session of our Praxis session will provide an overview to the United States’ immigration system. We will discuss the history of the United States’ immigration laws and policies as well as how the current “legal” system operates. Our discussion will also touch on topics such as the connection between settler colonialism and immigrants - both historical and current. The overall goal of this discussion is to have a historical understanding of U.S. immigration policies and how the current system works in order to support immigrants who may be targeted by the federal goverment for deportation.
